I would like to ask the gentlemen of HUNTERSPOT if they mind a girl being in their HUNT CAMPS. I often find myself the only female at a HUNTING CAMP. I respect that many guys like their week "out with the guys" while at camp, and I find that some men seem uncomfortable, but most seem to welcome a girl to Hunt Camp. WHAT DO THE MEN of HUNTERSPOT prefer?

I have no problem with it at all. Every year the day after thanksgiving my family makes it's way up to northern PA to our cabin. My grandmother has attended every year that I know of. In addition to making all the meals, she still hunts as well! If I ever get my scanner working, I'll have the proof up here.

So no, I never have a problem with it. But maybe it's different for me because I grew up with it like that. Plus it might be a little different situation being that it's my grandmother.

My wife also does some hunting, and although I have not been in a camp with her yet, I wouldn't mind it. Just as long as she didn't nag on me like she does here :)

Doesn't bother me at all. My wife just got her hunting license last year and it's great spending time in the woods with her. And like Brad said, seriously who wants to look at a bunch of swinging d!cks all week long. I think it's awesome when women hunt and would like to see more of them!

I have never had the pleaure of having a lady hunt with me. Once I dated a girl who wanted to do that and I thought it was great and we never got the opportunity. Later in life she became a Sergeant of the NJ State Rangers.
I think it would be great. My wife doesn't hunt but she doesn't mind if I do. Also my daughters are young and they haven't really made a decision about it. The oldest has helped me bait. More power to more women who do.
One thing I want to do when I retire is teach my wife to ride quads. Then as a family we can go on riding trips (wife, 2 daughters and my son). Also to mud events. I think is fun being a Redneck Italian.

My wife and I live at my hunt camp. So I don't have any problem with it. I love it when lady's hunt and can share their story's with others. As far as Quad rideing is concerned, my wife rides my quad up to our mailbox to get the mail and it is just under a mile one way on our driveway,

10-4 with Girls in camp! I am 100% in favor of the girls goin to the woods, and disagree with the broke back mountain style of hunting, Growing up as a young man we had an annual hunting trip that was a family tradition, and it was a boys only trip. which caused me great stress and caused me to comb the mountains of West Virginia in search of a female companion, have you been to West Virginia? Bring a girl with you! you will spend more time hunting Deer, Not Girls. ha ha ha........BB

There have been GREAT responses to this question. Personally, I have been to HUNT CAMPS where I have been the only girl about 8 times. I try to make the guys feel comfortable by telling them to be themselves. A girl has to realize that in this situation, she HAS TO BE EASY GOING, and be understanding of male humor & 'camp humor'. I also try to give the guys 'time alone' and not be there being 'one of the guys' 100% of the time. I tell the guys that if they want to swear, tell dirty jokes, walk around in their underwear, or walk naked out of the shower...it's all good with me...as long as they don't mind if I walk naked out of the shower. I understand that we are all there to hunt seriously and have a good time, so I try to measure the comfort level of the guys due to my presence in camp and respect their comfort levels. A fun, positive, adventurous, respectful, girl knows how to create a fun environment at camp without being imposing or intrusive. I must say...I have ALWAYS had a tremendous time at hunt camps.

Hey Samantha, I imagine that you hunt with your boyfriend and/or family. It appears by your photos and postings that you are a friendly out going person who enjoys hunting and life to it's fullest, but I sure not all see you for that. How do you handle if someone else wants to get up close and personal.
This certainly has been a good top of discussion and I am enjoying the privilege to follow it. Thanks and I will be watching for your response.
p.s. It would be nice if we had some response from the femle members of this topic.

I haven't hunted with family except my Dad, who died 14 years ago. I have hunted with 'male fiends' a few times. After my stint as a Toronto Entertainment TV news girl, I started a CONSUMER PRODUCT DESIGN/PACKAGING business and worked primarily in the hardware and outdoor industries. I seemed to have often found myself in male dominated environments. I like golf, hunting, and I have been filming in a documentary to be called THE BIKER MOVIE. All of these most often ut me in a male dominated environment and cause me to travel with males. If someone wants to get "close and personal" as you say, then I handle it appropriately according to the situation and the person...and the level of "close and personal". Due to the personal appearances I do at Biker events and in the OUTDOOR/HUNTING/SHOOTING Industry, I try to keep any personal relationships very secert. At HUNT CAMPS, I have been to CAMPS that are very tame and conservative and to CAMPS that are wildly fun.
