Just went down and bought a huntin' lic.,first deer tag, bear tag,pig tag, upland game stamp, and a fishin' lic. It set me back almost $200.It's pretty sad, and now I'm going down and buy a box of $50 non-leaded ammo thanx to the Condors that don't inhabit my area but might be their some day.I would like to buy a brick of .22 shells to shoot some ground squirells, but thats aginst the law.CAN YOU BELEIVE THAT?
California hunters should be on the endangered list.
Okay,I feel a LITTLE better

David.I'm in Bakersfield, and I know there is fair activity in the foothills east of me. The problem is that almost all the fround is private, so one needs to find a landowner who is tired of the hogs tearing up his property. Finding those guys though is tough. Another option is to lease some ground yourself, or with a group, and you can control the hunting on your own piece of ground.
If you come up with other ideas, let me know!

That's what I'm talking about!!! Where did you go to get these Geoff? I'm hoping it's close to me, and public property.

In Sacramento & San Mateo are two well attended consumer shows. You can find them at :http://www.sportsexpos.com/
I have friends that have booths there, now and in the past.
If you would like to know more, drop me a note at vsoutfitters@comcast.net
Good Luck!

I did an appearance for ALASKA COASTAL ADVENTURES last year at the FRED HALL FISHING/OUTDOOR SHOW in Long Beach at the Convention Center and also at BASS PRO in Rancho Cucamongo for their FALL HUNTING CLASSIC. However, most of the time I am going to shows in the east like Archery Trade Assoc, show in Indianapolis, SHOT SHOW in Orlando, EASTERN SPORTSMAN SHOW in Pennsylvania. I will also be at SCI in RENO... BUT - ONE OF MY SPONSORS IS ASKING IF THERE ARE ANY OTHER LARGE SHOWS IN CALIFORNIA?

Steve.....That area you refer to around Hwy 49 sounds like a decent place to try. I'll hit a few of my hunting friens up and let em know what there is.
Pigs in my area do the same as up around you. They all seem to know where the private land starts, and the public stops. I'm also hopeful that someday landowners open up their land to allow pig hunters.
Re. your comments about pigeon hunting, I'll see if I can check on a few local feedlot;s to see what the pigeon population is. If it proves fruitful, I'll post a note.
