Had a great opening day today. Shot 12 rabbits and a squirrel, check out my pics. Steve shot 2 at once with his pump!

I've never rabbit hunted before but would love to try it. I have a problem with cleaning anything that is dead though, I can handle the shooting and the cooking and eating but I do not have the stomach to clean and smell or even see a deer/squirrell, etc. being cleaned.
I heard rabbit was good to eat though if it's cooked right.

I love hunting cottontails and have taken countless bunnies with my Winchester 9422M Lever 22 Mag and Ruger Mark II 22 pistol. I like using a 22 and going for headshots.

No jack rabbits in jersey just cottontail and they are on the decline... and Fox, coyote, hawks, are on the incline...

I whack a couple mountain hares every year while archery elk hunting... sure is a treat to have some meat when you've been living off freeze dried meals.
The Jack rabbits are coming back around here, which is always good target practice... anyone else seeing the rabbit population increasing a bit?
