I've found google earth very helpful!!! Look at it alot, a whole lot!! Hunted a certain farm since I was little and I have changed my ways of hunting it the last few years, because of google earth!!

Something I found helpful in figuring out the distance from my stands to structures to make sure I'm legal is to use Google Earth. I pin point my stand and use the measuring tool set to feet measurement. Once you pinpoint the stand you can drag the line all over and it will measure the distances for you to anything around you.

It saves you from walking all over with a handheld GPS. A friend told me he uses it also to print out exactly where he'll be hunting so he can leave it for his family to find him in an emergency. He even draws the path to his stand so they can find him if something happens.
