The Winning Combination for Bagging that Trophy Tom

Well, I just finished applying for my Michigan Spring turkey license.  With Ground Hog Day behind us, spring is really just around the corner.  Spring to me means a wonderful opportunity to get out in the woods again and watch and listen for those early spring turkey sights and sounds.  I started turkey hunting about 10 years ago.  I watched a lot of turkey hunting videos in an attempt to try to learn the art of turkey hunting.  I found out real quick that simply plopping down in front of a…See More

The Hunt of 2012

What a great hunt 2012 was!  My husband and I completely tagged our with some great quality bucks.  We hunt in the Michigan's Upper Peninsula.  The area where we hunt is extremely challenging.  There are no farm fields; there are no oak trees; the deer in these parts are free ranging on timber lands.…See More

Dead Deer

"Yes, I agree.  There is absolutely no sport at all in killing like this.  I love to hunt and select an animal to harvest for my freezer.  My game becomes a permanent part of me for the rest of my life.  If I am not going to eat…"

"What a beautiful buck!  A real trophy for a new young hunter.  There is nothing like the first buck.  I sure that this will be the first of many.  I will never forget my first deer!"

My First Hunt

Twenty-three years ago, I married my best friend.  We had many common goals and interests which made us very compatible, although we did have our differences which made life interesting.  One of the main differences was hunting.  I knew that I was marrying the great white hunter; this fact I had accepted and could deal with.  I was an extreme animal lover and still am.  After a year of marital bliss, that hunter husband of mine began to chip away at my tough anti-hunting outer skin.  The…See More
