Saturday was National Hunting and Fishing Day.........and chances are you didn't know it.

I didn't know. Did you?

Saturday Sept. 27th marked the 36th Annual National Hunting and Fishing Day started by President Nixon in 1972. The day came and past, much like all 35 of them surely did before it. I consider myself a fairly informed outdoorsmen, yet I never even knew we had such a day. I'd be interested to see how many of our other members knew about it. If you did know about it, did you do anything to celebrate it?

Whether you knew about it or not the important… Continue

2 Rednecks Hunting (JOKE)

Two rednecks from Arkansas were out hunting. They decided to separate to get a better chance of seeing something. The first redneck says to the other, "If you get lost, fire three shots into the air every hour. That way I can pinpoint you and find you." After about three hours, the second redneck finds he is really lost. He decides to fire three shots into the air as the first man told him. He then waits an hour and does it again. He repeats this until he is out of ammo. The next morning, the… Continue

Best bow's

I keep hearing or reading about who or what make's the best bow's! I think it really doesn't matter as long as you are comfortable with whichever bow you choose and you know how to use it properly! Let me explain. The indian's did not have bow's that shot 360 fps, they did not have carbon arrow's, or fiber optic sight's! They used hand made long bow's with homemade arrows! Do these new compound bow's with faster speed's and all the rest of the high tech equipment make you a better hunter? I… Continue

Morning Hunt, Thursday 9/25/08

[ Draft ]This is my first blog on Hunterspot.com. Let me give a little back ground about where I hunt. I have permission to hunt on 3 adjoing farms in Baltimore county Maryland. Thurday morning called for a NE wind blowing about 10-15mph with rain coming later in the day. After alot of thought and deliberation, I decided on a stand that I call "Ole'… Continue

Thank you to everyone for keeping us in your prayers.

Well we made it. Finally got the power back on today, but not all is well.We had a sixty foot pine tree hit the house putting seven holes in the roof with three branches coming through the house. Needless to say we have plenty of water damage in the house. At the height of the storm we had water pouring in through the holes in the ceiling, we were moving furniture around when I grabbed my file cabinet it slipped out my hand fell over breaking two of my toes the worst thing I ever felt.
