Here is one to keep an eye on everybody. Among many other things, this bill would require you to have a federal gun license to own any weapon(shotgun, rifle, handgun, etc) that uses a magazine. Keep a look out for this bill. I got a call from the NRA last week about it. Read NRA story below for more.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know if you are in need of some metal work done, ex. truck racks, trailer racks, trailer hitches, you name it my Dad can make it. He is an excellent welder, and can also provide sand blasting and painting. He can make custom or production metal parts for pretty much anything as well.
He just recently made a leaning post/cooler storage rack for his boat out of aluminum, looks great I'll add some pictures soon. Still trying to get him up to speed… Continue

The NJ state assembly has now passed the bill to allow bow hunting on Sundays! The State Senate had already passed it's version of the bill, so the final step is the governor's signature. We must mobilize now and respectfully ask for Gov. Corzine's signature. You KNOW the anti-hunters will be sending him messages, we cannot afford to not do the same. I just sent a message to him from the governor's website. Read below at the NRA for more information, and a link to email the… Continue

"I saw a bumper sticker that said 'kids that hunt and fish don't steal and deal.' That's so true," said St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz. To make that bumper sticker a reality, Guidroz has leased a 600 acre camp just south of Washington and is in the process of transforming it into a hunting and fishing camp.

Eric Magness would hardly describe himself as a gunslinger. He says he's a licensed firearms instructor, but his day job is in the technology industry. He had a concealed weapons permit for six years until it expired in October, at which point the new sheriff in town put the kibosh on his right to pack.
And yes, he's a mite upset about it.

Governor Jodi Rell (R), State Senate Minority Leader John McKinney (R-28) and State House Minority Leader Larry Cafero (R-142), unveiled a package of proposals that will have an enormous negative impact on Connecticut's hunters, sportsmen and law-abiding gun owners, both economically and otherwise.
House Bill 6371 would double most hunting and fishing licenses and fees and eliminate the Conservation Fund, a fund spent on only wildlife conservation… Continue

Now keep in mind guys as you read below about this great organization, that even though this is a NJ based organization, there are several other similar programs out there in your states as well. So make sure to look them up. Also, no matter where you are from, your donation would still be helping to feed the needy.
Hunters Helping the Hungry (HHH) has been around since 1997. Their mission statement is as follows: "to provide quality protein for the hungry of New Jersey while… Continue

If you are like me, you are starting to wonder if the change in power will have much effect on the way we enjoy the outdoors. The way outdoorsmen across the country are behaving (running to the gun stores buying everything they ever wanted) seems to be an indication that a lot of people believe we are in for it.
What does everyone else think? He has said the right kind of things when he was running for election, but his track record shows a poor record for the Second Amendment. One… Continue

So last week was buck only season here in NJ. Each time I sat, I saw at least 4 does, even in a steady rain. So today, the start of Permit Shotgun, was marked on my internal calendar as Judgement Day for one of these big does that like to come and feed for hours on my pricey bait. So I'll sit, a few does will pop out early like normal, I just pick the biggest one, and the pull the trigger right? WRONG!
Nothing is guaranteed in the hunting world! The only bait gobblers I saw today… Continue
